Posted: 11 August 2009 | Source: FCU
Questions submitted in writing to the Thina Sinako Programme's Finance & Contracts Unit are shown here together with the answers given for the benefit of all prospective grant fund applicants. A record of informal questions and answers discussed during direct interactions between prospective applicants and members of the Thina Sinako Regional Offices or members of the Central Task Team that supports the application development task is not provided.
The following written question has been sent to the Thina Sinako Programme's Finance & Contracts Unit:
- Under section 2.1.1 it is mentioned that the applicant must have a functional office in the Eastern Cape. Must it be an office (physical address and building) of the applicant itself or can it be the one of a close partner of the applicant? Is it a criterion of non-eligibility?
The following answer has been given:
- During the verification of eligibility, the Applicant will be requested to provide the Contracting Authority with information about its office, including the physical location and communication facilities. An office within the offices of a Partner to the grant fund application would be acceptable, but there must be evidence of a dedicated space and access to communication facilities. In other words, it must be a functional office. Failure to present evidence of a functional office when requested to do so by the Contracting Authority would render the application ineligible.
