Mid-Term Review
Posted: 02 February 2007 | Source: PCUTHe Mid-Term Review (MTR) of the Programme is currently underway. The timing might seem odd, given that the pilot launches of the grant funds occurred only last year. However, the structuring of funding of this Programme by the European Commission into two separate tranches requires that the MTR takes place now. The first tranche of funding comes to an end at the end of 2007, by which time all contractual commitments involving that tranche have to be concluded.
The MTR allows all of us to take stock of the implementation experience to date, and to make adjustments to the Programme to further improve implementation in pursuit of our broader objectives. An independent team has been appointed by the Delegation of the European Commission to South Africa to undertake the MTR, and their final report will be submitted in March 2007.
