The Local Competitiveness Fund (LCF) was designed to provide grant support to projects focused on investment in public goods, with special emphasis on upgrading of the infrastructure that will enable local economies to achieve sustainable economic growth based on the development of their indigenous resources, such as natural resources, infrastructure, business and human capital. The grant has sought to promote the practice of meaningful collaboration between different interest groups and sectors as a means of developing new approaches to old problems, and to strengthen social capital.
